What Is a Dental Emergency

Don't wait when
time matters

A dental emergency is any situation involving your teeth or gums that requires immediate attention. This includes severe pain, knocked-out teeth, broken teeth, or signs of infection.

Acting quickly in a dental emergency can mean the difference between saving and losing a tooth. If you're unsure whether your situation is an emergency, call us and we'll help you determine the best course of action.

Our team is trained to handle urgent situations with care and efficiency, getting you out of pain and on the road to recovery as quickly as possible.

Common Dental Emergencies

We can help

If you experience any of these situations, contact us immediately.

Knocked-Out Tooth

Handle by the crown, not the root. Rinse gently and try to place it back in the socket. If not possible, keep it moist in milk and get to us within 30 minutes.

Severe Toothache

Rinse with warm salt water and use floss to remove any debris. Take over-the-counter pain relief. Severe or persistent pain needs immediate attention.

Broken or Chipped Tooth

Save any pieces you can find. Rinse your mouth and apply gauze to any bleeding. A cold compress can reduce swelling.

Lost Filling or Crown

If possible, slip the crown back over the tooth with denture adhesive or toothpaste. Don't use super glue. See us as soon as possible.

Abscess or Swelling

An abscess is a serious infection that can spread. Rinse with salt water and seek treatment immediately. Don't ignore facial swelling.

Object Stuck Between Teeth

Try to gently remove with floss. Don't use sharp objects that could damage your gums. If you can't remove it, we can help.
